Fashion Brand Marc O’Polo was founded in 1967 in Stockholm and is known for using natural and sustainable materials.
To start a new and contemporary brand strategy, we were commissioned to redesign its brand identity—logo, icon, typography, layout system and colors as well as the overall product branding and packaging. The main goal was to simplify and unify the design language and create a recognizable and clear graphic system. Striking and easy-to-use, it marks all inside and outside labelings, packagings, print and online uses in a contemporary and coherent look.
We have softly redesigned the logo. The serif font was tightened and slickened, and a gothic subline points out the brand’s origin and design approach. The reduced icon encloses the letters MO’P in a clean square. Teaming up with Office for Typography, we have developed two customized corporate fonts—based on the heritage but with a contemporary finish. The color scheme is mainly grey and white with splashes in green, blue, orange and purple to define different lines and actions. For the CI videos we collaborated with bus.group and sound designer ateq.

The exhibition „2038—The New Serenity“ invites the audience to discover a story between fact and fiction. In a series of films, it tells the history of a better world in which everything, though imperfect, is better in some pretty profound and radical ways. Based on the knowledge and visions of a collaborative team of international experts from Architecture, Art, Ecology, Economy, Philosophy, Politics, Science and Technology, team 2038 strives to explore our future society through prefigurative politics, illustrating modes of organization and social relationships to come.
We were very happy to design the reader „2038—The New Serenity“, published by Sorry Press. The anthology features contributions by Audrey Tang, Christopher Roth, Erica Love & João Enxuto, Erik Bordeleau, Evgeny Morozov, Hilary Mason, Jacob Eli Goldman, Jennifer Jacquet & Becca Franks, Joana Pope, Leif Randt, Ludwig Engel, Lukas Kubina, Mark Wigley, Meghan Rolvien, Michael Stoeppler, Mitch Joachim, Olaf Grawert, Suhail Malik, Tatiana Bilbao, terra0, and Tirdad Zolgahdr.

„Nachts. Clubkultur in München/Here Comes The Night. Club Culture in Munich“ (July 24, 2021 to May 1, 2022) takes you on a foray through Munich nightlife and sheds light on club culture as an important part and social catalyst of the city. It covers a multi-faceted reality, from iconic nightspots to legendary nights and musicians; moving from spectacular extravaganzas into the pallid light of dawn; from the revelers themselves to an entire industry dependent upon them. It also probes the significance of nightlife and club culture for the city’s urban development and shines a light on the clubs’ uncertain future, now even more precarious since the COVID19 pandemic.
As a part of our Identity Design for the Münchner Stadtmuseum we designed all Exhibition Communication Media as well as a catalogue published by Sorry Press. You can purchase the book here.

Edition Detail, the leading international publisher specializing in architecture and structural design, commissioned us to design the third copy of a series of buildings: At Home / Zu Hause.
The book presents 26 houses that seek a balance between individual dreams and ecologically sensible architecture. The comprehensive documentation shows specific solutions that skilfully embed each house in its environment while using regional resources and reinterpreting building traditions.
This book series is held together by a flexible hardcover that allows it to be easily handled as a work tool. A pattern made of a representing construction drawing together with a bright neon color is adaptable for the upcoming copies. A clean yet catchy layout leaves room for the photos, plans and construction drawings. Font Favorit by Dinamo.

LOS ANGELES is an art space in Günsterode near Kassel for artists, architects and theorists to meet, work and stay. The objects, sculptures and installations provide the structures for sleeping, eating, working, etc., while workshops, exhibitions and artist residencies are taking place. LOS ANGELES, run by artist Jonas von Ostrowski and curated by Konstantin Lannert, is open to the public for events and site visits.
LOS ANGELES represents a place of freedom and unlimited possibilities. We chose to use a font referring to the iconic Hollywood lettering. Pointing out their unique location and architecture, we created a video guiding the visitor from the universe to Günsterode. Design elements are based on the building’s shape and color and guide through the website coded by Philipp Polder.

New Aesthetic is a collection of independent type design, edited by Leonhard Laupichler and Sophia Brinkgerd and published by Sorry Press. The book approaches type design as an opportunity to create art: looking at type design with a benevolence to experiments and processes, and finding potential in the unusual, that might point into a new future of practicing visual communication.
Being the art directors behind Sorry Press, we created a bold and significant look using a bright green color throughout the book. The layout is subtle yet strong and lets the artworks stand out. Easy to overview and based on listed alphabets, this book can be used as both an inspiration book and a work tool.

MUC/Schmuck. Perspectives on a private Munich Jewelry Collection, 2021


Since the end of the 19th century, the craft of goldsmithing has gained importance in Munich, and substantial numbers of goldsmiths and jewelry artists still live and work in the city today. The Münchner Stadtmuseum has joined forces with jewelry students from the Academy of Fine Arts and their professor, Karen Pontoppidan, to mount an exhibition that not only offers visitors insights into historical works and their background, but also showcases today’s budding jewelry artists, their training, aims and significant works.
As a part of our Identity Design for the Münchner Stadtmuseum we designed all Exhibition Communication Media as well as the Exhibition Graphic Design and an expanding Catalogue.
The exhibition is designed by CPWH.

DEMO Working Group is an architectural practice based in Cologne, founded by Wiebke Schlüter, Tim Panzer and Matthias Hoffmann.
Their bold name needed a bold design—we made use of its meaning and decided to let the word DEMO stand out like a sign. On larger formats it's inverted in a graphic block.
The website has no conventional navigation but a shift between text and image which throws the visitor right into DEMO’s world. The site is coded by Philipp Polder.

CPWH is a collaborative design practice formed by Caroline Perret and Winston Hampel. Established at the intersection of architecture and design, the studio operates across disciplines, scales and contexts.
We decided to show their image-heavy portfolio website in a reduced and calm design with an infinite scroll. Twists like complementary-colored flashes and a small preview window that replaces a common navigation complete its individual look and feel. The possibility of integrating movable 3d models adds technical information in a playful way. The site is coded by Philipp Polder.

Edition Detail, the leading international publisher specializing in architecture and structural design, commissioned us to design the second copy of an upcoming series of community buildings: Schulbauten / School Buildings.
The book presents current school buildings standing out for the quality of their construction, their integration into the urban context, and their objectives. The school is developing into a full-time model in many countries, with homework help, a cafeteria and recreational activities. When planning, new functional areas and modified principles of spatial organisation have to be considered as well as issues such as inclusion, participatory planning forms, and aspects of sustainability, room comfort, and lighting. This publication deals with various school concepts as spaces for learning, socialising and living and presents 20 project examples from design to final details.

Sorry Press is an independent publishing house founded by Moritz Wiegand and Lukas Kubina. Its positioning rotates between art, contemporary literature and design. Sorry Press believes in printed matter and stands for a contemporary practice and a gutsy attitude.

In the summer of 2020, Munich was revegetated with the so-called „Schanigärten“, an outside extension of the bars, cafés and restaurants taking over the parking lots. (Constructional) improvisation became a legimite matter in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. For „Schanitown“, architect Alexander Fthenakis explored the new city landscapes with his camera. He classifies and describes his representative selection. Urban planner Jonas König (TU Berlin) contributes an essay on the phenomenon and its temporalities.

This book is the fourth publication of the ongoing Sorry Press series. The design concept is based on a significant 2-color system and a reduced and bold stand-out typeface in the tradition of German publishing houses.

To launch its Modern Organic Product line and as a kickoff for Spring/Summer 2020, fashion brand Marc O’Polo celebrated an exclusive event including a flagship store opening, dinner and afterparty in Stockholm. We were asked to create the identity covering the range from a key visual to apparel prints to graphics such as invitations, posters, labels etc.
Together with musician Peggy Gou and 300 invited guests, amongst them Caro Daur and Pernille Teisbaek, BAM Berlin set up an event that quickly became Stockholm’s talk of the town. Additional store events throughout Germany followed.
By reducing the message to the usage of the single initials MOP and replacing the letter O with an organic symbol, we created a powerful and bold statement. Sucuk und Bratwurst realized the animations. The photographs were taken by Fredrik Skogkvist and Fabian Wester.

Gaggenau, the leading brand for innovative and revolutionary home appliances, commissioned us to develop a visual concept to communicate the framework, guiding styles and design tools the brand operates within. In close collaboration with the design department, we created a book along with a corresponding digital kit and infographics to provide a deeper understanding of the design concept that Gaggenau represents.
An embossed glossy cover holds together a swiss brochure containing more fold-out pages than regular ones. The unfolded cover reveals information complementing the inside’s mainly pure images and graphics. Spreads are visually used to represent the differences and similarities of tradition converging innovation. In addition to the catalogue, we designed a digital kit that the design team can put together as desired.

Edition Detail, the leading international publisher specializing in architecture and structural design, commissioned us to design their publication Unser Bauhaus Erbe / Our Bauhaus Heritage.
2019 being the year of Bauhaus’ 100th birthday induced Edition Detail to take a critical look at its legacy in contemporary architecture. Throughout the book, 10 international authors explore the question of whether and where Bauhaus has left its mark on contemporary architectural events. A photo essay by Berlin-based artist Friederike von Rauch accompanies the texts.
Referring to the photographs that portray the Academy of Arts in Berlin’s Hansa Quarter, we chose a bright colored cover for this handy paperback, and created a bilingual title that works like a logotype. Focused on the essential message without any compromise, the inside texts are accompanied by strictly black-and-white images so the photography part stands out.

Robotic Building (Architecture in the Age of Automation), 2019


Edition Detail, the leading international publisher specializing in architecture and structural design, commissioned us to design their publication Robotic Building, edited by Gilles Retsin, Manuel Jimenez, Mollie Claypool and Vicente Soler.
The use of robots in architecture is already commonplace: robots automate processes that were previously done manually, complex shapes are created with the help of 3D printing, and autonomous swarm robots construct complex buildings. This publication explores the potential of using robotics in architecture, structural design, and structural engineering.
We chose a bright artificial bookbinding material imitating a natural comb structure as jacket, embossed with bold and contemporary typography (Skrappa by Jacob J. Wise). High glossy inside paper and an assembling flexible image grid layout underline the process-based techniques.

Nathalie Schmitz is a Berlin based event consultant. She builds and leads teams of designers, artists, and experts from different fields to create unique worlds of experience. They range from large-scale festivals to intimate happenings.
We designed her identity and website and provided the wording. The minimal stationery set in contemporary Whyte by DINAMO stands in stark contrast to the colorful website. To emphasize the meaning of the word „space“, we let it stand out on a glossy white page. The cursor on her website forms an extended color-blocked crosshair that points out the area scrolled over vividly.

Witnessing the very beginning of fashion label Vetements, we were asked to create its identity in close collaboration with founder and creative brain Demna Gvasalia.
Within a year, Vetements shook up the fashion industry by escaping the continual rebranding and reinvention of the fashion cycle and focusing on singular, impactful pieces with immediate appeal. Ultimately, Vetements left an enormous impact on our contemporary aesthetics.
We developed a radically pure and reduced comprehensive identity system, including the logo mark, typography, labels, hangtags, lookbooks, (e-)invitations and a website. By using a slightly modified grotesque as the slimmed down foundation, we treated typography in a very basic list-style, showcasing the core of information and images. Whenever it supported the idea, we added expressive fonts or questioned the usual handling of design.

Galerie Karin Guenther and Wiegand von Hartmann together hosted the opening of Das Kapitel by artist and illustrator Stefan Marx. The exhibition took place at WVH’s office space and showed drawings and observations from Stefan Marx’s travels to New York City.
A limited edition of 100 accompanying books, published by Sorry Press, were released and signed on location by the artist. We designed the identity of the event as well as the exhibition book, as part of the Sorry Press series.

The Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich, founded in 2005, stands for a diverse, contemporary Jewish voice. The internationally active orchestra continuously explores new paths with altering alliances and formats to make Jewish contemporary culture alive and visible for everyone. Together with J. Borgmann we developed their identity.
For Season 2019–20 we put emphasis on the imagery. A musician was 3D-scanned. Together with Michael Clasen we generated emotions and certain moves that represent the themes of the concerts, as a balance to the strictly typographic informational level. Since the concerts not only show musical high culture but also remind the audience of a strongly burdened Jewish past, we don’t hesitate to show negative emotions that might even seem disturbing.

Exhibition and Jubilee Catalogue Generations, 2019


The Sammlung Goetz is an internationally renowned and highly prestigious collection of contemporary art. It was founded in 1993 by the collector Ingvild Goetz and today includes more than 5000 works from nearly all artistic genres.
In 2018, Sammlung Goetz celebrated its 25th anniversary with a three-part exhibition dedicated to artistic creations by women. On display were nearly 200 works, ranging from drawings, photographs, paintings and sculptures to films and extensive installations by artists such as Carla Accardi, Geta Brătescu, Lucy Dodd, Ellen Gallagher, Katharina Grosse, Jennifer Guidi, Haegue Yang, Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kasten, Yayoi Kusama, Rebecca Morris, N. Dash, Paulina Olowska, Carol Rama, Pipilotti Rist, Sister Mary Corita Kent, Jessica Stockholder, Rosemarie Trockel, Pae White and Andrea Zittel.
We designed the accompanying catalogue Generations, published by Hatje Cantz. The raw linen book jacket is overprinted with a drawing by Rosemarie Trockel. The inside is distinctly divided into three sections showcasing the exhibitions that took place at the Sammlung Goetz building by Herzog de Meuron as well as in Haus der Kunst in Munich. A fourth section, standing out on uncoated paper, shows the collection’s history. Referring to a design identity from the collection’s very beginning, we developed a bold graphic system in black-and-white that unifies the different topics.

As part of our ongoing collaboration with distiller San Cosme and idea-giver Lukas Kubina, we worked with Munich-based artist Martin Fengel on the design of the special edition Suicidas. The limited edition of 576 bottles, inspired by the Œuvre of Roberto Bolhaño, makes Mezcal and Mexico lovers’ hearts beat faster. The bottle is put into effect and photographed by Gerhardt Kellermann.

Johanna Perret is a French-German fashion designer and design consultant based in Berlin with a decade of experience in the fashion industry. In 2009, she founded the internationally acclaimed and award winning fashion label PERRET SCHAAD together with Tutia Schaad.
When we were asked to design Johanna Perret’s website, we thought of a picture-heavy way to show her portfolio. Being able to switch between image and text via a minimized preview screenshot allows a strict division between her professional information and visual work. The website is coded by Philipp Polder.

The Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich, founded in 2005, stands for a diverse, contemporary Jewish voice. The internationally active orchestra continuously explores new paths with altering alliances and formats to make Jewish contemporary culture alive and visible for everyone. WVH, together with J. Borgmann, were asked to design their corporate identity and website, and develop a visual concept and strategy in close collaboration with D. Grossmann, the orchestra’s founder and conductor.
To have a striking and comprehensible visual communication for bigger formats, we decided to slim down the name to the short form JCOM, but let the fully written out name replace the letter O. This way an emphasis is put on the word orchestra. An alternate triple-spaced logo is used for smaller formats. The contemporary grotesque font (Basel by Chi-Long Trieu) stands for the modern yet timeless approach. The handling of typography is minimalist and strict, to reinforce the idea of a very straight and clear level of information. The imagery as a central design element adds an emotional level. 3D-scanned emotions and moves represent the themes of the concerts. The website is coded by Philipp Polder.

TISH (Technology, Imagination, Spaces and Humans) is an experiential design and art collective established by Yves Peitzner and Jelena Gregov. They collaborate with forward-thinking brands and institutions, working at the intersection of art, technology and design, to deliver architecturally integrated audiovisual and interactive installations.
We designed TISH’s website with a focus on their visuals. The key idea is a flexible grid that allows all images and videos to assemble in different ways with every reload. This allows new angles and perspectives of the projects every time the website is visited. The website is coded by Philipp Polder.

Mariposa B.C. is a Munich-based Boxing Club run by Tim Yilmaz. WVH were asked to design their website. Based on the purple and orange logo, we made use of the bold colorblocking so each chapter folds out as a single part. Ever since Edition Detail, the leading internationally publisher specializing in architecture and structural design, was established, its editors have conducted countless conversations with architects and engineers from around the world.
WVH was commissioned to design a selected volume of interviews with partners and project managers from 13 renowned architectural firms from around the world, including Santiago Calatrava, Reinier de Graaf (OMA), Toyo Ito, Eduardo Souto de Moura, Alvaro Siza and José Selgas (SelgasCano). It shares insights into their inspiration, the philosophy behind their architecture, how they work with materials and form, and shows the physical realisation of their designs.
The book is bound in a silkscreen-printed, cut linen jacket. The inside layout divides bilingual interview texts and images in a clear and modern way. Ultimately I Search For Clarity was shortlisted at Schönste deutsche Bücher 2019 by Stiftung Buchkunst.

Architecture and design platform Stylepark threw one of the opening parties for imm trade fair 2018 at Museum für Angewandte Kunst Köln (MAKK). They showcased and awarded their selection of best novelties in the field of product design. Teaming up with design duo RelvãoKellermann, a presentation in MAKK’s central exhibition hall was realized.
We were commissioned to design the event’s identity—a key visual, invitations, exhibition graphics, exhibition catalogue and merchandise. Referring to projections as the main idea of the exhibition design, holographic award badges built the central graphic design element, in combination with clean typography. The photographs were taken by Gerhardt Kellermann.
With this event as a starting point we have since been designing Stylepark’s design novelty awards for Salone del mobile, Orgatech and all other trade fairs they participated in.

Sorry Press is an independent publishing house founded by Moritz Wiegand and Lukas Kubina. Its positioning rotates between art, contemporary literature and design. Sorry Press believes in printed matter and stands for a contemporary practice and a gutsy attitude.
Cerebro Frito tells the story of a circle of people in Munich endlessly celebrating the summer of 2015 with loads of liquor and decadence. In many ways it refers to Christopher Roth’s Munich society novel D200 from 1981.
This novel is the first publication of the ongoing Sorry Press series. The design concept is based on a significant 2-color system and a reduced and bold stand-out typeface in the tradition of German publishing houses.

Founded in 2009, Munich-based design studio ASK has become known for its iconic use of forms focused on products and objects of every scale in industrial, cultural and museum contexts. We were commissioned by Steffen Kehrle and his team to develop their identity with stationery, their website and portfolio book.
To determine the studio’s continuous questioning regarding design principles, we made use of what the initials A-S-K stand for and let them stick out graphically on mainly pure white backgrounds, giving space to all images. In addition to all printed matters we designed a modular digital portfolio system our client can put together as desired. The website is coded by Jens Buss.

VPGOE is a gallery space based in Görisried, Allgäu. The show Die 7 Todsünden (The 7 Deadly Sins) took place in 2016 in the former cheese packaging factory’s large industrial hall and featured artists such as Julian Rosefeldt.
We designed the exhibition catalogue. Bright red blank pages are spread throughout the book, referring to the color of sin. The cover shows a detailed view of an artwork by bronze caster Bruno Wank, embossed with a tattoo-like script font. Red numbers next to the artworks guide through the exhibition to give a quick and easy overview.
